Cape Heart Wilderness Retreat was a slice of true wilderness, simply superb ocean views and a very comfortable eco friendly house. From the moment we hit the track in, we knew this would be a really special adventure and a real privilege to have our very own exclusive part of the wild coast overlooking the southern ocean. Wish we'd booked more than 3 nights ! Our RAV4 handled the track no worries.
Ironstone Cottage was perfect for our stay at Kangaroo Island. We had an early morning start on our return trip, and hence needed to stay close to the Ferry. The Cottage is nestled high on top of a hill providing beautiful views of the bay and the ferry terminal. Our son would sit on the balcony and watch the ferry and smaller boats come & go. In the evening we would sit and watch the wallabies come for a feed. Our favourite past-time was watching the dolphins swim in the bay. With shops a short drive away, plenty of space within the Cottage, and beautiful views all around, Ironstone Cottage was truly a home away from home for us.
It was by far the best place, even after seeing so many other "fancy" ones around KI. Honeyeaters superseded everywhere else. It has Privacy, calmness, serenity, views, fantastic beach, all amenities and so so comfortable. 10 ************.
