Im ok with Pets as long as they recognise the danger of cliffs and snakes...
... and that they are only allowed on the heritage exclusion zone which is 1 HA around the house.
The following is not included and guests are invited to bring:
The adjoining land is the wildlife abundant Lesueur Conservation Park. You also have access to around 3km of magnificent coastal cliff oceanfront reserve and over 100 acres of privately owned, State Heritage protected land.
Cape Hart Wilderness Retreat boasts panoramic coastal and sea views to the south, the lighthouses of Cape Willoughby to the north and the Page Islands to the north east. The coastline offers secret caves for the adventurous to discover, and walking access to the ocean provides a rock swimming pool and numerous fishing and diving spots.
An abundance of wildlife parades at dawn and dusk, including Western Grey kangaroos, Tamar wallabies and possums. Echidnas and goannas as well as many native bird species, including the soaring wedge tailed and sea eagles, share this unique heritage listed property.
The nearby resident sea lion colony, the southern right whales migrating from Antarctic waters to the Great Australian Bight, dolphins and huge schools of fish add further dimension to the beauty of this ever-changing canvas of living art.
The eco-retreat has state of the art electronic alternative energy powered by the KI wind and the Earths sun. The expansive outdoor decking takes advantage of the constantly changing moods of the ocean and showcases the spectacular southern ocean swells crashing against the rugged cliffs.
The peace, privacy and serenity of the location are unsurpassed, and offer what some world travelers have described as "some of the most stunning views we have ever seen". Cape Hart will steal your heart.
Go on an adventure to see if you can find all 9 points of interest signs on the property and remember Rest. Relax. Revive.
Q: Is the road accessible in all weather conditions?
A: Accessible by car all year round but 4WD or high based vehicle is highly recommended. The 6 km track into the property has been graded. However, it is still recommend that guests take a vehicle that doesn't have low clearance (such as sports cars with low front bumpers). Recent feedback is that normal sedans, SUVs and 4WDs have no problems at all. Whales were spotted recently out the front. Please drive slowly and carefully along this track as there are a couple of areas where care is needed.
Q: How long is the drive from the ferry?
A: Approx 25km or 45 minutes (depends on how fast you drive on dirt roads - it can be down in 30 minutes or up to 60 minutes)
Q: Where is the nearest petrol station and supermarket?
Q: How do we operate the solar and wind power system?
A: There are full instructions left at the property and also will be explained by the cleaner on arrival. It is easy.
Q: What happens if the power goes out and we can not reboot the system?
A: This has only happened once before in a huge storm. Make sure that you have adequate supplies. There is a battery lantern & candles at the property plus gas heating. Time to get romantic!
Q: Can we walk down the cliffs to see any animal life or go fishing?
A: You will be entering Marine Reserve at your own risk
This home is absolutely stunning! The entire place is large and spacious, very clean and the dcor is amazing. We enjoyed each and every minute here, from wine and dinner on the deck with the stunning views, to watching the olympic opening ceremonies on the most comfortable couch.I would highly recommend staying here, and would most definitely go back to visit again! Our 1st stay last year was 5 nights (not enough) This year we stayed 11 nights + 2 (ferry cancelled because of weather). Fantastic! The house is very good with a good range of appliances. The isolation is amazing a perfect place to unwind .During our stay at Cape Hart we did not see another person. We are missing the views, wind, surf, seals, eagles, kangaroos etc.etc. We experienced days of wild weather which only added to the enjoyment. Road in is perfect!

A slice of true wilderness, simply superb ocean views and a very comfortable eco friendly house. From the moment we hit the track in, we knew this would be a really special adventure and a real privilege to have our very own exclusive part of the wild coast overlooking the southern ocean. Wish we'd booked more than 3 nights ! Our RAV4 handled the track no worries.

Ocean as far as you can see, wonderful bush setting, seal beach the closest I have ever been to seals and if you move slowly they become used to you. Will definitely be back. Access road is very interesting, do not attempt this road in a normal vehicle, our Jeep Compass handled it fine. Small SUV or 4wd needed. Watching seals and dolphins feeding every day. Another holiday we will never forget. Come to stay you will not be disappointed.
